The Palestinians have chosen to democratically affirm a terrorist organization, Hamas, as their government. As the Germans found out in the 1930's, once you elect fascists to government they often are "reluctant" to leave. Islamists don't fit the strict definition of fascists, but until a new term is coined for this religious-nationalist-totalitarian-kill-all-who-oppose-our-world-view group, I think it will suffice. For those who are offended with the use of the Islamic Crescent and the nazi swastika, consider that the Palestinians could have chosen the route of nonviolent opposition or "miracle of miracles" reconciliation with Israel. They instead have overwhelmingly chosen the path of chaos and totalitarianism.

How the rest of the Muslim world relates to Hamas, will reveal how deeply rooted within Islam is the desire to overcome obstacles by the use of the sword. In the above Palestinian flag, I've increased the black area of the flag, since one web site said it represented vengeance and I also increased the green bar which represents Islam. Does the rise of Hamas another example that something rotten within Islam gives rise to a need for vengeance when faced with conflicts?
